Case Study: STEPPINGSTONE SCHOLARS, INC’S Spring Gala.

Posted on: April 3rd, 2013

IMS Technology Services always works with our clients to ensure that all their event needs are met and go off without a hitch, from locations ranging from outdoor to college/universities.

One great example of our ability to help clients in an outdoor venue is the Case Study: STEPPINGSTONE SCHOLARS, INC.  Steppingstone Scholars is dedicated to helping educationally underserved students in the Greater Philadelphia region achieve academic success through mentoring and support.

SteppingStone Scholars’ Spring Gala is an awards and fund raising event managed by Dunleavy and Associates that boasts 500+ attendees. The Philadelphia Museum of Art was chosen as the event’s location whose inspiring grandiosity was only upstaged by a guest musical performance from recording artist John Legend. IMS created a visually stimulating atmosphere that incorporated the beauty of the Philadelphia skyline with the historical marvel of the Museum of Art.

What SteppingStone Scholars needed was pristine audio, video and lighting for both presentations and live entertainment accompanied by scenic décor that enhanced the clear top tent but didn’t hinder the city skyline or museum views. The Spring Gala organizers required seamless PowerPoint and video playback capabilities with live image magnification and video recording through high definition broadcast quality cameras. In order to highlight the event, SteppingStone Scholars needed architectural and ambient LED lighting both inside the tent and for visually enhancing the museum.

The IMS Technology Services team is proud to say that by working side by side with SteppingStone Scholars, we were able to provide the solutions necessary to make this event incredible.

LifeCell National Sales Meeting Case Study

Posted on: March 6th, 2013

LifeCell develops and markets tissue repair products for use in reconstructive, urogynecologic and orthopedic surgical procedures. Their mission is to transform surgery through continuous innovation by leveraging their scientific heritage and proprietary technologies. Each year LifeCell holds a National Sales Meeting (NSM). The NSM is an annual event that recognizes and awards the accomplishments of the sales team members who contributed to the success of LifeCell.

LifeCell wanted to transform the Grand Ballroom at the Phoenician in       Scottsdale, AZ into an exciting, energy-pumping environment that created   a visually stimulating setting to engage their attendees. To make the event a success, IMS Technology Services proposed using a Widescreen Projection Blending technology powered by a Vista Spyder X20 Video Processor for the (NSM).

Vista Spyder X20 Video Processor Specifications:

  • 16 inputs 8 outputs
  • Operator MultiViewer out (one monitor for op, unlike other units multiple monitors per destination not needed)
  • PC based operating/programming control (no expensive controller needed)
  • Matrix Routing built in (any input can go to any input)
  • Scan converting built in
  • 8 video inputs (any type of video input composite, component, SD SDI, HD SDI)
  • 8 PC inputs
  • Analog/digital input output capabilities
  • Blending/rotation built in
  • 16 windows available, 8 switchable windows
  • On board diagnostics thru easy to use PC interface
  • Supports projectors, plasma screens, LED walls, rear projection
  • Redundant Hot swap power supplies
  • Real time PIP positioning, seamless transitioning, window borders, drop shadows and a variety of keying effects

Initially, the LifeCell decision makers were uncomfortable with making the switch from their traditional two screen meeting to a widescreen meeting.  After attending an IMS live demonstration of our Widescreen Projection Blending capabilities, the decision makers were able to see first-hand the power to engage an audience with this technology and they were sold.

This past January, IMS successfully used widescreen blending and the Vista Spyder X20 Video Processor during the (NSM) and the response from the crowd was extremely enthusiastic. The results exceeded the client’s expectations from concept to completion. IMS Technology Services was able to provide the “WOW” factor that LifeCell wanted to deliver to its audience.

You can learn more about Widescreen Projection Blending by watching a demonstration video here.

KPMG Case Study

Posted on: February 13th, 2013

Communication is vital to any successful business, and KPMG International, one of the world’s largest audit, tax and advisory firms needs to be able to communicate with various locations clearly and securely around the world.

The challenge that KPMG faced was that with 22,000 professionals across the country and 8,000 partners, in 152 countries, KPMG needed to be able to disseminate confidential information to many remote locations, in different time zones. For KPMG the optimal solution had to be cost effective, efficient, reliable and on a secure medium. It was also very important for remote attendees to have as close to a face-to-face meeting experience as possible.

With IMS Technology Services guidance KPMG was able to transform a small triple divisible meeting space, located in their high-rise office building, in downtown New York City into a temporary state of the art production studio. This gave KPMG the ability to communicate key initiatives to all their professionals and partners on a global scale via a live web stream. Additionally, KPMG offered a recorded version of the hybrid meeting on
demand for later viewing.

IMS Technology Services also helped KPMG by:

  • Providing a secure, protected transmission of intellectual capital & confidential information.
  • Working hand in hand with their IT Department over the course of three months to ensure all aspects of KPMG’s transmissions of confidential information were protected and that internal firewalls would not block access to broadcasts.
  • Collecting actionable analytics on all remote attendees.
  • Designing a custom scenic treatment with hard set flats, sheer bone pipe & drape and an integrated visual element for on screen content.
  • Using LED lighting fixtures to enhance the scenic treatment and to complement the company brand.
  • Using color balance broadcast lighting to strategically illuminate the presenters in an omnidirectional pattern to minimize shadows and to provide depth of field.
  • Switching the broadcast from live image magnification to graphics baed content and video playback devices seamlessly.
  • Delivering pristine audio by using boom microphones and lapel microphones, which were equalized and balanced for optimum quality.

IMS Technology Services is proud to say that we were able to work with the KPMG team. We exceeded their expectations by delivering a high quality, professional, hybrid meeting and web stream with measurable results. IMS Technology Services worked closely with KPMG to create a full service solution, which produced a successful, and stress-free hybrid meeting including: IT, Web Stream Capture, Web Stream Distribution, Video Production,
Lighting & Staging, Audio and Production Management. Working alongside KPMG, IMS Technology Services reduced any and all anxiety inherent with producing a hybrid meeting event of this magnitude. We were able to keep it “green” by greatly reducing the client’s carbon footprint. This was accomplished by saving out of office time and the traditional travel expenses attendees experience with these types of events.

The IMS Technology Services team proud to be a trusted partner of KPMG’s. Today IMS Technology Services is considered an extension of the KPMG team and continues to produce hybrid meetings and events for KPMG and many of our other partners.
